History 

1976

Stackstown Golf Club opened as a 9 hole course brought about mainly by the work of volunteers – men and women – headed by the first Captain Denis Devine R.I.P. and ably assisted by among others the late Paddy Harrington.

1977

Membership extended to include non Garda personnel.

1978

Ladies Section formed. Rita Quinn was the first Captain.

1979

Saw the development into an 18 hole course.

1983

A modern Club House is officially opened by An Taoiseach – Prime Minister – Garret Fitzgerald.

1995

Stackstown home grown member    Padraig Harrington turned professional.

1999

Saw the development of a further two holes bringing the total to 20.

2006

Padraig Harrington officially opened the redevelopment of six greens and tee boxes.

2010

Changes in the Constitution to allow non-garda members a greater say in the running of the club. New Mens Committee, Ladies Committee, Management Committee and Council structures established.

2011

“Harrington Room” officially opened by Padraig Harrington. The room is dedicated to Padraig and contains many momentos of his career to date
