Hard luck to Ladies Bloom Cup team who were beaten by a excellent Carrickmines team in the Bloom Cup Final in Carrickmines GC on a beautiful sunny day on Sunday 3rd Sept.

Portmarnock Junior Invitation Trophy 2023
There was very tough opposition with 23 clubs and 72 players taking part in the
competition.
Despite the competition Stackstown Junior Boys won out.
Ryan Barry won the individual Junior Boy’s prize with a 1 under gross score.
Stackstown Junior Boy’s team with Ryan Barry and Cillian Murray won the team event with a score of 74 points.
Very well done to the Stackstown lads.

Hard luck to our Super Seniors who were narrowly beaten by KIlkock in the final on Tuesday in
Elm Park. It went down to the final hole and unfortunately we lost out. A special thank you to the huge
number of Stackstown supporters who turned up on the day. Well done to Managers Brian Hogan, David
Brennan and the panel on getting to the final.
The Ladies Bloom cup had a fantastic win against Castle on Sunday last in the semi final, with the final pairing
winning their match on the 20th to seal the deal. Once again a great achievement by managers Mary Grogan,
Aideen O’Brien and all those involved in the panel. The final is against Carrickmines and is played home & away.
The first leg is in Stackstown on Thursday 17th at 2.30. Put the date in your diary and we will send out further details
nearer the time.

Ladies Bloom Cup Team 2023
Congratulations to the Ladies Bloom cup team who finally defeated Castle yesterday on the 20th hole and are now in The Bloom Cup Final against Carrickmines.

Due to the inclement weather last Sunday the semi final of the Ladies Bloom cup was postponed yet again. It will hopefully now take place on Sunday in Stackstown at 3pm. We need 2.5 pts .

Congratulations to our Super Seniors who are through to the final after a comprehensive win against Wicklow in the semi final, wining 4-1. The final is in Elm Park on the 1st of August, against either Baltinglass or KIlcock. Time to be confirmed, but put that date in your diary and we look forward to seeing the usual sea of Red out supporting.
Our Ladies Bloom cup have the second leg of their semi final this Sunday at 2pm in Stackstown. Having secured one match away, they need 2.5pts to progress to the final. Please get out there and support them.

The first leg of the semi final was played in Castle on Sunday last. Evelyn Smith & Frances McEvoy
secured that all important away point, winning on the 16th. Well done to Irene Parsons & Janice Edwards
and Joan O’Riordan & Siobhan Murphy who fought hard with Matches going to the 16th and 18th.
The home leg is on this Sunday at 2pm and it would be great if we could replicate the Support that was
present in Castle. So please get out there and cheer the ladies on, 2.5 pts will see us through to the final.

Well done to our ladies’ teams this weekend.
The minor cup had a great win against Woodbrook on Friday, with Patricia Murphy winning on the 12th away followed by 3 wins at home, getting them into the quarter finals.
Unfortunately, our Challenge cup team came up against a very strong Dun Laoghaire team, losing out 3-2. Well done to all the players, caddies, managers and especially the supporters.
Our Carton cup take on Dun Laoghaire today, Monday, 12/06/2023 at 4pm. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing our usual sea of red out there supporting.

- The Super Seniors came through a difficult day against the Hermitage, winning out 4-1.
Sunday 21st
- It wasn’t to be for our Ladies Intermediate Team, losing out to Edmonstown, 3-2.
- Some better news from our Pierce Purcell team, as they beat Lucan 3 ½ to 1 ½.
- And the good news continued, as our Ladies Carton Cup team won4 games at home and the series against Ballinascorney, the next round now awaits.

Women’s Carton Cup. (9 holes)
Playing the first leg away to Ballinascorney yesterday, Stackstown put in a great performance, taking away 2 wins to our home leg next week and narrowly losing the others.
Janet Byrne and Aine Keegan won their matches on 8th and 9th. Yvonne Corrigan lost on 10th and Barbara Hogan on 11th, great effort by both with Eilis Kielty also unlucky.
Home leg next Sunday 21st May at 4pm in Stackstown.

We had two ladies’ teams playing at the weekend. First up on Friday our Junior Foursomes took on Druids Heath, with 2 matches away and one at home.
Our home team of Elaine Boucher and Siobhan Murphy had a super win on the 11th, 8up. It was a close affair away, with Claire Timlin & Sinead Murphy losing out on the 17th and Dolores Nulty and Suzanne Cummins unfortunately lost out on the 19th.
Great golf and so close. A big thank you to Managers Fiona Moylan and Irene Parsons and all those who supported both home and away on the day.
Next up was the Revive Fourball, with 3 matches away and 2 at home.
Mary Horn & Siobhan Murphy won on the 17th away closely followed by Mairead Cronin and Jean Constant, who were 3 down with 4 to play and managed to win on the 18th. Captain Marian and Sinead Murphy secured the 3rd match winning on the 17th at home.
Well done to team members, Rachel Leahy & Marian Kennedy and Anne O’Connor & Phillipa Carr and to Managers Jean Constant and Ita O’Brien. Once again, a big thank you to those who stayed out on the course to support the team.

Ladies:
Another good weekend for Ladies golf in Stackstown. Our Challange Team following the Minor Teams win last weekend pulled off a great win against Foxrock.
An early start in Foxrock saw Nicola Hall with caddie Brid Flynn get off to a great start and keeping her nerve , win out on 15th hole with Mary OLeary just out of luck.
At home, it was nip and tuck all the way with Martina Halpin and caddy Trudy Doyle and Susan Brady with caddy Grace Wallace both dormie on 17th and holding their nerve to secure a fabulous win. Patricia Brennan following with caddy Captain Marian was called in. Thanks to subs on the day Marianne Corbet and Helen Ellard , VC Dee in Foxrock and the great supporters in red who despite the inclement weather followed the team to a late nail biting finish and great win.
Next week on Friday 5th May we have the Junior 4somes versus Druids Heath at 3.15pm and on Sunday we have the Revive against Delgany.
Mixed:
Our mixed team fought bravely, but it wasn’t to be, losing out on the final hole to Beechpark.
Mens:
The Barton Cup team had an even tougher time of it against the Grange, losing out in the end.
The J.B. Carr team are in action this Thursday at 4:30, up against Slade Valley, all away.
And on Friday our Fred Perry team take on Edmonstown, with 2 home and 3 away matches.

Men’s Teams:
The Best Cup played Hollywood Lakes at the weekend with 3 matches away and 2 at home. Unfortunately they lost 3-2, hard luck to all. A big thank you to those who supported the team on the day.
Juveniles:
Congratulations to our Boys & Girls team on beating Grange on aggregate over the last two Sundays to progress to the next round of the Milltown Spring League.
Ladies Teams:
The first of the ladies interclub matches took place on Sunday with our Minor Cup team playing Grange Castle. A comprehensive win at home on the 14th & 16th respectively, followed by a win on the 15th away, see the Ladies progress to the next round.
We have three matches next Sunday. The Barton Cup play against Grange GC at 2pm, then the mixed foursomes take on Beech park at 2.30, this is followed by the Ladies challenge cup who play against Foxrock at 3pm at home, with an earlier start of 12.30 away.
As always your support in Stackstown or away would be much appreciated. But, please remember not to engage with the players during the course of the match.

The Super Seniors continued our great luck in the Inter Club Matches, beating Edmondstown 3 ½ to 1 ½ yesterday Thurs the 20th.
Our Best Cup lads are in action this Sun the 23rd against Hollywood Lakes with 2 games at home and 3 away.
Juveniles are also in action in the Milltown Spring League away to the Grange also this Sunday in late afternoon.
